Analog for the Ages

Key Takeaways

  • While technology advances at lightning speed, our basic human emotions and decision- making skills remain fairly constant over time.
  • If you haven’t thought long and hard about where you want your family’s wealth to be over the next 10 years, now is the time to do so.
  • Our new Personal Wealth Assessment™ helps you to establish where your personal wealth is today and the best steps for building it to the next level.

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos was asked a few years back what he thought was going to change in the next 10 years. His response: “I don’t focus on what’s going to change. I focus on what will not change and put everything around that.” Essentially, Bezos is recommending that business owners consider this outlook when trying to figure out how to use technology to move their companies forward.

History tends to repeat itself in terms of how we build and destroy cultures and nations. Regardless of our environment, it comes down to making good decisions, controlling our emotions and taking the right steps in order to survive. It’s the same thing with money and how we build our wealth over time. That’s the analog part of life, and it stays fairly constant.

By contrast, the digital side is always changing. We have Apple’s Siri and Amazon’s Alexa—virtual assistants whom we can ask just about any question under the sun. We’ve become accustomed to communicating with each other via Skype and increasingly through I Beam and other types of emerging visual VR (virtual reality). However, the basic human elements of emotions and decision-making remain the same no matter how much technology changes.

That’s what we want you to focus on over the next 10 years for your family and your personal goals, and in your wealth-building. To that end, we have developed The Personal Wealth Assessment™. It’s a simple self-directed assessment that helps you gauge how far along you are in your wealth-building strategy and where you can make improvements to get to the next level of happiness and financial independence. Again, you can take this assessment here to see where you currently stand and where you would like to go. This self-assessment will help you along the way while working within the parameters of your emotions and decision-making capabilities.

Until next time, enjoy.
